Billed as the 'largest gathering of fashion creatives in the UK', the Ethiopian fund-raising event Fashion Aid takes place at The Royal Albert Hall, London, England, UK, Europe. The event features the combined talents of 18 top international fashion designers, 35 hairdressers, 60 make-up artists, 120 dressers, 125 models and a host of celebrities from the entertainment world. 'Superstar' attendees include Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach, Boy George, George Michael, Bob Geldof, Jerry Hall, Grace Jones, Madness, Michael Caine, Eurythmics, Steve Norman of Spandau Ballet, Tina Turner, Paul King, Anjelica Huston, Paula Yates and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The event is climaxed with a faux-wedding ceremony between Freddie Mercury of Queen and actress Jane Seymour. A post-event party is held at The Groucho Club in Soho, where sausage and mash is served up to the guests.
