Thomas Johannson (promoter) : I love The Pogues, I think of them still as a fantastic rock’n’roll band rather than a folk group, but when they played that night, Shane MacGowan fell off the stage because he was slightly intoxicated. His bandmates got very angry with him so they put handcuffs on him in the dressing room, played the show without him and left without him. They had actually locked him in the dressing room, so afterwards I heard noises coming from there and we had to go in and uncuff him, help him out.
