Fact #178232

When:

Short story:

Nirvana play at the Maritime History Museum Park, Stockholm, Sweden, Europe.

Full article:

Thomas Johansson (promoter) : That gig was in the park of the Maritime History Museum, a beautiful park just fifteen minutes walk from downtown Stockholm. We had previously done Pearl Jam there, Page and Plant, Bryan Adams. With Nirvana we also did Roskilde Festival, Turku Rock Festival and one in Norway. When the grunge wave happened in the 90s, it was very refreshing, very good for rock music, and Nirvana were at the forefront of that. It was a fantastic performance in Stockholm, but Kurt’s involvement with heroin was something which saddened me, because I’m very anti-drugs because they so easily and quickly destroy people. Tragically, drugs are a huge growing industry, a lot of which I think is down to politicians not having dealt with it properly.
