Short story:

When The Rolling Stones play at The Vinterstadion, Orebro, Sweden, Europe, the fans become excited, which causes local police to over-react somewhat, charging in on horseback with sabres raised. Thomas Johansson (promoter) : The Swedish Musicians Union set that gig up and as my band The Outsiders was the opening act, the Union asked if I could be the local guy for The Stones at that show. It proved to be a very interesting gig because in the middle of the set, the police decided there was a riot going on. Well, of course, there was no riot. It was just kids getting excited about seeing a great band. But the police had very little experience of that sort of thing, so they brought their horses into the sports arena, and they drew their sabres and used the flat side of their swords to push the kids around. I’ve never seen that happening anywhere else. Remember this was a time in Sweden when you were not allowed into a restaurant if you had long hair. Policemen out in the country had no idea, they’d never seen anything like it. I remember there were policemen up on the stage and, of course, The Stones didn’t like it at all.
