Mike Quashie (real name Matthew Michael Quashie), a Trinidadian dancer known as The Limbo King, dies following end of life hospice care in The Bronx, New York City, USA. Quashie popularised the Limbo dance craze in the early 1960s, and was revered by artists including Jimi Hendrix, Lou Reed and Led Zeppelin.

Lou Reed : Mike Quashie should be a millionaire several times over. Between his Spider King act and the fire swallowing, he originated so much of what you see today as far as glam rock and costumes go. A lot of people stole it from him, and off they went. And Mike Quashie never got paid back.
