Fact #171166

When:

Short story:

After a Level 42 concert at the Alsterdorfer Sporthalle, Hamburg, Germany, Europe, bassist Mark King gets involved in a brawl in the Mad House nightclub.

Full article:

Mark King (Level 42) : The club was jam-packed and there were a lot of squaddies and lager louts around. I was winding this bloke up at the bar, who kept on nudging me, by nudging him back. Then he turned around an walloped me and I spun round and hit him. Nigel (security man) leapt in and got pushed over. By this time the squaddies had gone and it was Nigel and me against Germany, Europe.

I had become obnoxious. I’m bad enough when I’m sober, but I had become such a git when I was drunk and it was something that wasn’t getting any better either, I was growing worse at aggravating people and was in severe danger of it becoming a problem if I didn’t stop. I didn’t need to drink, and I was not an alcoholic, but I was uncontrollable when I had had a drink.
