Mark Knopfler : I like to use dynamics in songs - in Tunnel Of Love the music drops down then builds up again. I'm not sure where that comes from but I must get it from somewhere. Most creative people are like sponges - they absorb things and then squeeze something different out. Some songs I like to be linear and stay on the same level like How Long and Calling Elvis.
