We were under no delusions about doing what Roxy Music hadn't been able to do, and what T.Rex hadn't been able to do. Me and Morrissey had conversations about that. We recognised that fact and we were quite happy about it. When we watched MTV, we knew we weren’t going to get on. Nor we were arsed. It was Taylor Dayne and Michael Jackson on there. I was amazed it happened at all.
