Keith Altham (journalist) : They came in all their Nazi paraphernalia and coal-scuttle helmets with their bikes revving at the far end. They made for the stage in a flying wedge shape with people parting like the Red Sea in front of them.
Mitch Mitchell (drummer, JHE) : When the riot started, the police got the batons out and started beating the kids.
Jimi Hendrix : I don't know why the police react in this kind of way. Maybe because there is such a low crime rate in this country, they have to find something to do. Any kind of action seems to make them over-enthusiastic.
Keith Altham : There was a dreadful party at some club where one of the journalists I was with, Richard Green, insisted on jumping onto the bar to sing Deutschland Deutschland Uber Alles. At which point, the good old Zurich fuzz, who had done their level best to make the visiting musicians' stay as miserable as possible, burst into the club and started fighting everybody.
