Shem Law (fan) : I’d seen them many times, in tiny places, but this still felt intimate. They came on dressed as New York coppers and from the start everybody was dancing and reeling. My dad, who weighs nineteen stone, fell over while ‘taking’ the front and they just lifted him out over their heads. So much beer was consumed that the women ended up using the gents, and the men used the cloakroom wall. We came out steaming and all the way to Brixton tube station all you could hear were Irish voices saying that was the best they had ever been.
