Fact #160150

When:

Short story:

Pete Shelley of UK punk hitmakers The Buzzcocks has his solicitors send a legal letter to the other three members of the group dissolving their partnership.

Full article:

Steve Diggle (The Buzzcocks) : I thought he was a fucking coward. He could have phoned me and been a man about it. By that time I was thinking we should give up because it had become a nightmare. We’d done everything we could.

Pete Shelley (Buzzcocks) : It was cowardly, but it would have been more cowardly to continue. There’s no point having a band if you’re going to make them compromise their own individuality. It had ceased to be a workable thing for me. I was trapped, so I got out before the endgame kicked in.
