Eric Bibb (fan) : My family was steeped in the folk tradition, but when I was seventeen, Axis: Bold As Love knocked me for a loop, so I went with a bunch of friends to see Jimi for the first time at Hunter College, where he was supported by The Troggs.
There was a line of people around the block. He had a wall of Marshalls and it was undeniably the loudest thing I'd ever heard, It was an assault on the senses and, although he was clearly a great player, I felt it was definitely far too loud.
