Michael Hecht (Hendrix accountant) : On the 1968 US tour, (road manager Gerry) Stickells would settle at the box office after every Experience performance, and use that money to pay bills. On his arrival in New York, he would walk into our office with suitcases and paper bags full of money. We would do the accountings and then take the money down to the Franklin Bank. They would have countless slips of paper for receipts but would always be close to $10,000 short. Whatever the excuse, it just wouldn't add up. It was an impossible way to work.
