Full article:

Gerry Stickells (road manager) : He was a problem to get up in the morning. First thing was you had to find him. He'd always be at some girl's house. You'd have to phone the doorman of the club he'd finished up in, or else get hold of the limousine company to find out where they'd taken him. He was a popular item with the girls.

Hugh Hopper (Soft Machine) : Poor Gerry Stickells. To him fell the impossible task of raising the musicians in the morning if, God forbid, they had to get an early plane to the next town. He stood in no awe of them: I have seen him pounding on the door of Jimi's room, oblivious to passing hotel staff and clients, hollering, "Come on out, Hendrix, or I'm going to smash this door down!"

Jimi Hendrix : Like, if I get up at seven o'clock in the morning and I'm really sleepy, but then I open the door and see someone that appeals to me. First of all, I think 'What in the world is she doing here?' or 'What does she want?' … She says 'Maybe can I come in?' And I'm standing there and really diggin' her, you know, she's really nice looking, about nineteen or twenty, beyond the age of so and so. I say 'Oh well.' I'll probably just stand there and then there I go, I'll be bitin' into an apple maybe.
