When:

Short story:

Under A Raging Moon, a solo album by Roger Daltrey of The Who enters the UK albums chart at its peak, No52.

Full article:

Roger Daltrey : All of my solo albums outside of The Who were always deliberately different, different kind of music, different style of singing, everything, because I was always very conscious that my voice when I sang with The Who belonged to The Who. For me, it would have been treachery to go and make an album where I sang the same as The Who on a solo record. But once The Who was finished my voice came back to me, it was mine again. So on this album I wanted to sing like I sang with The Who - but I didn't realise how difficult that would be without The Who. Something subconsciously used to happen that used to make it very easy for me to sing. Once I got into the studio on my own, I had to start analysing where that part of me came from. And it was a very painful experience! I thought, for the first few weeks in the studio, 'I can't sing like that any more!' And only when I analysed it did I realise how far inside me that energy and that part of my voice and my feelings are. It's right in my heart!
