David Fricke (reviewer) : Compared to the pouting humourless Cure that had previously played New York, the Smith gang on this trip often let its icy cool drop in strange, unexpected ways. During Let’s Go To Bed Smith bounced around in front of the mike in a comic ragamuffin dance. The driving pulse and epic chime of the guitars in Push never stampeded over the song’s sweet pop outreach and, in the final encore, The Cure went totally teenage with an unexpected brontosaurus stomp through Gary Glitter’s Do You Wanna Touch Me? Smith gone glam? What fun!
