Mark Seaman (party invitee) : I knew somebody who got me an invitation and I met two rock stars in one night. First of all I said hello to Jimi Hendrix, and then I spotted John Lennon standing on a chair trying to get a better view of Grapefruit while they were playing. So I walked up and deliberately bumped into him. He looked down and I apologised and he said, '"That's all right." I spent the rest of the evening wandering around trying to bump into famous people.
There was Jane Asher hanging on the arm of Paul McCartney, and Cilla Black was there, as was just about anybody in the charts at the time, along with most of the Radio One jocks. I remember hearing Mike Pinder of The Moody Blues talking to John Peel about Nights In White Satin, which had just gone into the Top 30.
