Carlos Geniso, (promoter, DGMedios, Chile) : 1994 was the first time I promoted Depeche Mode. It was an outdoor show with an 18,000 capacity. It’s quite a complex, because the venue has a tennis court, the velodromo where they usually ride bikes, the track field and the stadium where they play soccer. It was a very strong performance, they played all their hits, the fans were really excited, but the funny thing about that gig was that the police who were doing security for the gig were the same police for the big soccer game that was going on next door. The soccer game finished at seven-thirty and we had our gig starting at nine, but the fans from the soccer game tried to sneak in to the gig, so the police ended up chasing them all over the venue to catch them and throw them out.
