It is announced that Ed Sheeran's album x (pronounced Multiply) has overtaken Adele's 21 to become the longest-charting UK top 10 album ever released by a British artist. It was the fastest-selling album of 2014, and has now remained in the Official UK Albums Top 10 for 73 consecutive weeks, breaking Adele's 71-week record. Sheeran's album has sold over 10m copies worldwide, and received 59 platinum certifications.
