Louis Messina (promoter, Messina Touring Group) : I remember when Ed Sheeran was opening for Taylor on the Red tour, at the Prudential Arena in Newark, New Jersey, he missed his ride and got left behind. He was just sittin’ on the sidewalk and my bus was parked right there, so one of my team invited him aboard to have a drink with us. Ed and I knew each other by then so as he came in I said, 'How ya doin'? Lemme pour you a drink, and by the way I’m gonna be your national tour promoter.' Later on, his manager Stuart was saying to me, 'I hear you’ve been talking to my artist' and I said, 'Well, you know…'
