Chris Kenner : It was a sleeper for about eight weeks. They stopped playing it in New Orleans, then it went to No2 in the nation. Everybody was surprised.
Lee Bates (friend of Chris Kenner] : We used to go up under the bridge and drink Thunderbird wine and sleep like hoboes with the rest of the winos. So someone came to a joint one night - me and Chris was totally drunk - we hadn't changed clothes for two or three days. Hungry. Someone kicked him - I think it was Bill Sinigal. He said, 'Hey, man, get up! I Like It Like That done busted!'
