Thomas Jensen (promoter, Wacken Festival) : Metal has certainly expanded its audience from where it was at the end of the twentieth century. Around 2000 you couldn’t get arrested with a heavy metal act in the UK. I remember when Judas Priest were doing Brixton Academy, Saxon was added to the bill because they couldn’t sell all the tickets.
