Mal Evans (Beatles roadie) : Paul said to me, 'Do you fancy going to America, to have a party for Jane for her 21st birthday?' So we flew to Denver, where she was appearing. We stayed there for a few days and that was where the Magical Mystery Tour started. We were talking about doing a tv show involving a mystery trip, where we could get into all sorts of silliness, and the magical thing was because you could really get into a lot of silliness and you didn't have to explain anything.
