An orchestral backing for The Beatles' song She's Leaving Home is recorded in EMI Studio 2, Abbey Road, London, England, UK, Europe. Although the group's regular producer/arranger George Martin, conducts the session, he feels slighted because Paul McCartney had given the job of arranging the track's strings to Mike Leander.

George Martin : Yes, I think Paul thought I made too much of it. Probably right, it was just a blow, that's all. I'd always done everything for The Beatles, and I couldn't understand why anybody else could do it. But it was because Paul was so excited with what he had that he wanted to get it done as quickly as possible, and he didn't want to wait another 24 hours. I was in the middle of recording, I think it was Cilla [Black], and I was shaken when he told me what he'd done, and he was surprised that I was hurt.
