John Lennon : I wrote Mr Kite as a pure poetic job. It was time to write and I had to write it quick otherwise I wouldn't have been on the album. I had to knock off a few songs, so I knocked off my section of A Day In The Life and Mr Kite. I was very paranoid in those days, I could hardly move.
