Having recently been denied the right to perform at Constitution Hall by the DAR (Daughters Of The American Revolution) because of her colour, popular singer Marion Anderson performs live at The Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, USA. The concert was arranged at the urging of Eleanor Roosevelt, who convinced Harold Ickes to put the show on.
