Emma Banks (booking agent, CAA) : On the Getaway Tour I attended several gigs, including Zurich. The Chilis are one of the nicest bands anybody could ever dream of working with. With some artists, for example, the dressing room is their personal space, but if you’re not in the Chilis’ dressing room chatting with them, they’re wondering what’s wrong. There are no closed doors backstage at a Chilis' show.
Also, their crew has been with them forever, so it’s great to meet those people again and again. Tracy, Flea’s bass tech, Chris who is Chad’s drum tech, Dave Rat who does FOH sound, Scott who does lights … they’ve all been there forever. It’s a lovely situation to be in.
I frequently get comments from promoters saying how much they enjoy working with the Chilis’ crew. But I think it’s fair to say that the attitude comes from the band. They’re just special.
