Fact #141457
When:
Short story:
David Bowie plays at The Kremlin Palace, Moscow, Russia, Europe.
Full article:
Arthur Fogel (head of Global Touring, Live Nation) : Bowie's agent, John Giddings, and I were in Moscow for his show at The Kremlin Palace. The show was being filmed and David was furious that the Russian generals in front rows all had their fingers in their ears
After the show David wanted the master and John convinced locals to take us to the studio to get it. John and I got in the car with two thugs who drove us around endlessly (of course, killing time to make dubs of tape) through dark alleys. We were definitely getting uncomfortable. At one point John looked at me and asked, "Do you have your passport?"
I asked why, and he said, with a laugh, "So they can identify our bodies."
There you have John, practical and joker all in one.
