Fact #141422

When:

Short story:

On their Licks Tour, The Rolling Stones play at The Olympic Stadium, Munich, Germany, Europe, supported by The Cranberries.

Full article:

Paul Russell (journalist, Hot Press) : Mick, needless to say, made an immediate beeline (backstage) for Dolores (of The Cranberries) while the others talked to the lads. Charlie Watts was a bit quiet, but everybody else was in flying form. Needless to say, the Cranberries floated on stage to play their set which lasted 45 minutes and got a good percentage of the 17,000-crowd up on their feet.

(Later) I was in the Thai restaurant where Liam Gallagher had his teeth kicked in, and saw Dolores singing a song from a musical with Brian Johnson of AC/DC," he continues, "who then told some of the rudest stories I've ever heard!

John Giddings (agent) : I looked after The Cranberries at that time. I put them on with The Rolling Stones and I told Dolores not to walk on the B-stage, so the first thing she did was to walk down the B-stage. She just knew how a pop star behaves. Afterwards I had to pretend to be telling her off, but I thought it was a brilliant thing to do.
