When:

Short story:

Michele Stodart releases her second solo LP, Pieces, on One Little Indian Records in the UK.

Full article:

If you’re familiar with Stodart as one quarter of The Magic Numbers, this could be something of an eye-opener. As a singer-songwriter, Stodart has an identity completely removed from that excellent band, but every bit as compelling. She’s also, thank goodness, a million miles from the ukulele strumming waifs and slick catch-in-the-voice Katies who infest Radio 4. There are songs here which, at first listen, sound comfortingly sweet, but any sensitive soul delving deeper into the lyrics of Once In A While or Just Anyone Won’t Do will find it hard to hold back the tears. Neither Adele nor Beyonce need worry, because Stodart’s much too real to steal their fans.
