Full article:

Dick James (music publisher) : During rehearsals for The Beatles' Christmas Show at Hammersmith Odeon, I sat with Paul in the stalls, watching some of the other acts. He sang a few snatches of melody to me, which he and John had in mind for future songs.

Soon after, John started on the same tunes that Paul had just been singing. 'There's a title I've got in mind,' John said to me, 'which I can't get rid of – She's Got A Ticket To Ride.

I liked the phrase, for it was a slightly more original idea than usual for expressing goodbye and parting. I encouraged John to work at it.

Elkie Brooks : I was only eighteen when The Beatles asked me to appear with them in their 1964 Christmas show at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, England, UK. Now I didn't have to close my eyes and dream.

I was in high spirits when I arrived at rehearsals. So were The Beatles. They were sharing the bill with Freddie And The Dreamers and The Yardbirds, and when rock musicians get together the sparks tend to fly.

Eric Clapton [The Yardbirds] : At a certain point The Yardbirds started getting package tours, with The Ronettes, Billy J. Kramer, The Kinks, The Small Faces, lots of others, and we lost our following in the clubs. We decided to get suits, and I actually designed suits for us all. Then we did The Beatles' Christmas show, and at that point we really began to feel the lack of a hit.
