Jackson Browne : My younger brother was a huge influence on my musical taste. I would hear records from his collection, and it was him that got me into The Byrds and all this new stuff. I remember him sitting down at the piano in the living room and playing this monster version of We Gotta Get Out Of This Place by The Animals, which I liked so much better than the record. It had been a huge hit on radio, but the records you heard on the radio were like the weather, something you got exposed to, it was always there, and some of it you liked and some of it you didn't. But my brother played We Gotta Get Out Of This Place with these big chords, and when he hit the chorus it was like the sun coming over the mountain, really amazing. I kind of adapted the way he played that song to become the way I played piano from then on.
