Fact #129092
When:
Short story:
On their World Slavery tour, Iron Maiden play at Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, supported by W.A.S.P.
Full article:
Chris Holmes (guitarist, W.A.S.P.) : There was a reason why I drank as much as I did.
When you’re on the road and everybody’s screamin’ at you about the things you do, you know, it’s like, uh, one time I got drunk … I was in Louisiana, and I was out with Nicko McBrain (drummer, Iron Maiden) and some shit happened and whatever … oh, some guy goes … I think what happened is he goes, 'Woah, dude, can I get an autograph from Nicko?" And then he turned round to me and he goes, "Oh, W.A.S.P., you suck." I threw him into this fountain which blew butane through the water, it was on fire coming out of the water, and he got burned and the cops came and took me to jail.
The next day, I barely got out in time to do the next show, and when the roadie picked me up, on the way to soundcheck he goes, "When Blackie found out you were in jail, he just wishes he could leave you there and find another guitar player."
Then, six months later, there’s a big article in Circus magazine about how Blackie Lawless (singer, W.A.S.P.) bailed Chris Holmes out of jail, a big story on it. So something I get in big trouble for makes a big story about how cool Blackie Lawless is. Actually, it’s just a big crock of shit. (cackles demonically)
