Fact #124321

When:

Short story:

When Sly And The Family Stone fail to turn up promptly for a concert appearance in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois, USA, a riot erupts in which over 100 people are injured. The following year, the band will release the LP There's A Riot Goin' On, whose original cover shows the band-shell in Grant Park overlaid with a photo of a police car. The title track is listed on the cover but does not actually appear on the LP, or anywhere else for that matter. In 1997, Sly Stone revealed that the "track had no running time simply because 'I felt there should be no riots'."
