Bobby Elliott (drummer, The Hollies) : After three days, they threw Little Richard off the bill. I remember coming in off the street and there was a lift, right by the stage door, where Little Richard was having a screaming tantrum - 'Those little girls out there love me! They want to see me!' - and a New York cop had been called to calm him down. By the time I got there, the cop had Richard up against the lift wall, and had the barrel of his gun stuck under Richard's chin to keep him under control.
