Tim Dunn (Owner-Partner-Director, Gearhouse SA) : When we did the staging for the South African Music Awards, the SAMA Awards, it required nine tons of flying daylight screens and the roof didn't have the load-bearing capacity to take that so we had to bring in a very sophisticated ground support system made by Total Fabrications.

However, the stage also had an eighteen metre revolve with a capacity of about fifty tons on it, so the central leg of the ground support for the screens had to go through the exact centre of the revolve. It was a very complex piece of work but, with everybody pulling together, we carried it off.
