Short story:

In the presence of the mayor and 750 journalists, a punch-up erupts at the wedding of Rolling Stones vocalist Mick Jagger to Bianca Perez Morena De Macia in Saint Tropez, France, Europe. Full article:

Keith Richards (guitarist, Rolling Stones) : At one point I heaved a rather hefty piece of metal at a policeman. They didn’t know me from Adam. I had to get in somehow.

Anita Pallenberg (girlfriend of Keith Richards) : I just remember there were loads of people there and afterwards they all came to my house to slam shut the door and have a fix.

Keith Richards : I think (Bianca) has had a bigger negative influence on Mick than anyone would have thought possible. Mick, Anita and I used to go around an awful lot before he met Bianca. Mick marrying Bianca stopped certain possibilities of us writing together because it happens in bursts; it's not a steady thing. It certainly made it a lot more difficult to write together and a lot more difficult to just hang out.

Terry Reid : That was a loon. They asked me. I was playing down at The Marquee and someone came down and said Mick wanted us to do the wedding. I said ‘When is it’ and he said ‘We’ve got to leave tomorrow’.We jumped on the plane, flew out there, took a bus down to St. Tropez and of course everyone was there at the hotel, it was just nuts, great party. Everybody got up and jammed, Stills, Ronnie Wood, all going bananas.
