Yvonne Elliman (backing vocalist) : Really I had no idea that I'd sing with Eric. I didn't even know him till Miami.

I was just sitting there (in Criteria Studios) and Eric decided he wanted a lady's voice on Please Be With Me. Once he asked me, I was willing to do anything.

We've just got a third eye together, that's the way we work in the studio. Eric played a lick that was Get Ready and said, 'come in Yvonne and we'll try some lyrics'.

I've been complimented on my vocal feel but Eric is such a great ad-libber and that's something I can't do, just go in the studio and ad lib. That's why Eric is so good, because whether you're in the studio or on stage, you've got to get that live sound.

That's the way we wrote Get Ready. It's a very special song 'cos we were very high on each other when we wrote it. He's got a different writing style to mine. I'm more bitchy. It's quite simple, we just said what we wanted in the song.
