Elvis Presley buys Graceland, a colonial-style mansion just outside of Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Elvis's presence will make Graceland a place of pilgrimage for music fans, and will inspire the song Graceland by Paul Simon. Also, in his song Walking In Memphis [1991], Marc Cohn sings of seeing the ghost of Elvis pass throuygh the gates of Graceland.
