Fact #106728

When:

Short story:

Big Brother And The Holding Company, B.B.King and Jimi Hendrix play the first of six nights at The Generation Club, New York City, USA.

Full article:

Sam Andrew (guitarist, Big Brother And The Holding Company) : I almost never sit on jam sessions, although I did once sit in with Jimi at his club, The Generation, which was downtown on 8th Street. I never sit in usually because it's really hard to get the right sound if you're going through an unfamiliar amp and everything. I jammed at The Generation because we'd played a set that night at The Generation. Actually, Jimi did the sound for us. There's even a photograph of him holding a Nagra tape recorder but looking at the stage and twiddling knobs on the sound board. He'd been around all night, then we had a jam after our set.
