In Sokolow, Czechoslovakia, Europe, a concert scheduled for the next day by folksy Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn, is cancelled by East German government officials. It is stated that after seeing a publicity photograph of Cockburn wearing an earring, the officials decided he was too 'subversive' to be allowed to perform.
