As Neil Armstrong steps onto the surface of the moon, Pink Floyd are in a BBC tv studio in London, UK, playing live music to accompany the historic event. This moment will also provide inspiration for songs including Armstrong, Aldrin And Collins by The Byrds, and Moon Hop by Derrick Morgan, which will be covered by Symarip as Skinhead Moonstomp. Also, Armstrong's famous quote, "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind", will appear as a sample at the start of the Little Caesar cover version of The Whole Of The Moon, originally written and recorded by The Waterboys.

David Gilmour (Pink Floyd] : It was a live broadcast, and there was a panel of scientists on one side of the studio, with us on the other. I was 23. The programming was a little looser in those days, and if a producer of a late-night programme felt like it, they would do something a bit off the wall.
