Fact #100757
When:
Short story:
Having just quit The Jimi Hendrix Experience at the end of a tour of the USA, bassist Noel Redding flies to London, UK.
Full article:
Herbert Worthington (friend of Hendrix) : I didn't know it at the time, that Noel had quit, but I could tell Jimi was very concerned. He was very nervous about it.
Mitch Mitchell : The band never split up for me. Jimi and I always played together, and it was fun. Even while the Band Of Gypsys was going on, we carried on working in the studio together.
Arthur Allen (friend of Hendrix) : Mitch was like part of the family. I loved Mitch and so did Hendrix. He and Jimi were very close and his personality superseded the racial thing.
Noel Redding : We can't find out the exact figures but, by counting the number of multi-platinum records that the Jimi Hendrix Experience sold, it seems we're talking about at least $30m to $40m. It would be nice to know what they did with the money. No-one knows where it went.
