Jack Bruce, 60-year-old legendary bass guitarist for 1960s supergroup Cream, undergoes a liver transplant in an English hospital, after having been diagnosed with liver cancer during the summer. He will almost die when his body rejects the new liver, his kidneys fail and an infection sets in, requiring a lengthy recovery period.
When Sir Paul McCartney goes to see illusionist David Blaine dangling in a Perspex box above the River Thames in London, he becomes annoyed that a London Evening Standard photographer, Kevin Wheal, is taking photographs of him. A scuffle ensues and McCartney fires his publicist, Jeff Baker, on the spot. Baker will be re-hired the next day.
