The Eiffel Tower is officially opened in Paris, France, Europe. One of the most recognisable structures in the world, it will inspire many songs including the heavily erotic Sexy Eiffel Tower by Bow Wow Wow (1980) and The Girl Who Stole The Eiffel Tower (2003) by The Deathray Davies. And let's not forget that in The Beatles 1967 song, I Am the Walrus, a 'Semolina Pilchard' is reported as 'climbing up the Eiffel Tower'.
