Syria Mosque, built in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, in 1911 as "mystical" shrine for the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (aka the Shriners), is demolished. It became internationally known as a venue for music concerts featuring top rock, pop, soul, jazz and blues artists until its demolition. The Mosque was also considered to have been the birthplace of network television.
