Will Young, the first winner of Pop Idol, releases his debut single, Anything Is Possible/Evergreen, on BMG Records in the UK. It will become the fastest-selling debut in UK chart history, selling 403,027 copies on its day of release, going straight to No1 and remaining there for three consecutive weeks, before going on to sell a total of 1.7m copies.
