Because of a blood clot, the heart of Paul Kossoff, formerly of Free but latterly with Back Street Crawler, stops beating for a full thirty-five minutes at Northwick Park Hospital, London, UK. He goes into a coma, and is pronounced clinically dead but, against all the odds, recovers.
