Legendary session drummer Earl Palmer, best known for his New Orleans recording sessions with Fats Domino, Little Richard and others, dies at his home in Los Angeles, California, USA, aged 84. Little Richard said of Palmer, "He was probably the greatest session drummer of all time."
Travis Barker, former drummer of Blink 182, and DJ Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM), are seriously injured when their Lear Jet crashes in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. The jet's pilot, co-pilot and two other passengers are killed in the crash.
