International cult celebrity figure Wild Man Fischer dies, aged 66, from heart problems in Los Angeles, California, USA. Despite having suffered since his teens from paranoid schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (not to mention attacking his mother with a knife), he achieved worldwide celebrity status after being discovered by Frank Zappa and releasing his debut LP, An Evening With Wild Man Fischer, in 1969.
